A Tribute to Dolly Parton – 9 to 5

We are heartbroken by the news that Dolly Parton passed away at the age of 80. She was a true American icon whose music, laughter, and generosity touched millions of lives. Like so many of you, we have loved her for as long as we can remember.

In her honor, we are hosting a special screening of 9 to 5 on September 26 at the Eureka Theater. This is the 1980 comedy that introduced Dolly to movie audiences everywhere, starring alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

The evening will start with a sing along of classic Dolly songs. Our song leader will be announced soon! Dolly costumes are encouraged for EVERYONE. Break out the wigs, the cowboy boots, and the big blonde hair.

This screening is a fundraiser for the Bridgeville Community Center, the local organization that runs Dolly’s Imagination Library in Humboldt County. The program sends free books to kids from birth to age 5, with over 1,800 kids currently enrolled. Dolly believed every child deserves a book to call their own.

The Bridgeville Community Center will be tabling in the lobby to discuss the program. Stop by and say hello!
