Two Nights at the Eureka Theater

The Eureka Theater’s Threshold dance series continues with Threshold:UP, a two-night event featuring Beats Antique on their Metamorphosis Tour with support from an incredible lineup of DJs. Both nights are Friday and Saturday, November 27 and 28, with doors at 7:00 PM.

Beats Antique appears both nights. Friday features Beatkitty and Illexxandra. Saturday features David Starfire and Mr. Jennings. With support both nights from Pressure, Devstep, DJ Sigil, and Marjo Lak.

Lasers and projections will cover every surface for a fully immersive experience. This is the kind of production that doesn’t happen anywhere else in Humboldt.

Beats Antique is an experimental world fusion and electronic music group formed in 2007, known for mixing samples and heavy percussives with Tribal Fusion dance and performance art. Their live shows pull from vintage vaudeville and carnival traditions with a rotation of guest dancers and musicians.

David Starfire is a pioneer of the Global Bass genre, named by BBC Radio as “one of the most brilliant world-fusion producers of our time.” He has performed at Coachella, Outside Lands, Lightning in a Bottle, and Burning Man.

Beat Kitty is a producer and DJ blending bass, halftime, DnB, house, trap, and global rhythms into playful, dynamic journeys. She has played major international festivals including Electric Forest, Shambhala, and Lightning in a Bottle.

Illexxandra is a Brooklyn-based DJ and producer drawing from global bass, soundsystem culture, future sounds, funk, and classic club styles. She has played festivals including Outlook Festival (Croatia), Boomtown Fair (UK), Electric Forest, and Northern Nights.

Mr. Jennings is a Portland-based artist delivering a sophisticated technique of squidges, squooshes, bleeps, and blops best administered through a wall of subwoofers. He has played Shambhala (Canada), Future Forest (Canada, headline), Bamboo Bass (Costa Rica), and Emissions.

The weekend also shines a light on the local talent that keeps Humboldt’s dance scene alive. Pressure, Devstep, DJ Sigil, and Marjo Lak are staples of the region’s electronic music community, each bringing their own style to the stage. From deep bass to driving house and techno, these DJs represent the sound of Humboldt and the community that has supported the Threshold series from the beginning. Come early, stay late, and show love to the locals holding it down.

All proceeds support the ongoing restoration of the historic theater.
