SUMMARY:Essential Cinema: Children of Men (20th Anniversary)
DESCRIPTION:Alfonso Cuaron's dystopian masterpiece returns to the big screen for its 20th anniversary\n\n\n In 2027\, two decades of global infertility have left humanity facing extinction. Britain has become a police state\, and a disillusioned bureaucrat named Theo (Clive Owen) is drawn into a desperate mission to protect the first pregnant woman in eighteen years. \n \nStellar Cast- \nThe film features career-defining performances from Clive Owen\, Julianne Moore\, Michael Caine\, Chiwetel Ejiofor\, and Clare-Hope Ashitey. \n \nGroundbreaking Cinematography- \nCinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki’s legendary long takes place you directly inside the chaos. The film is renowned for its unbroken tracking shots\, including a harrowing refugee camp sequence and an unforgettable car ambush\, creating a documentary-like immediacy rarely achieved in cinema. \n \nA Film Ahead of Its Time- \nRoger Ebert gave it a perfect score\, and 20 years later\, its themes of nationalism\, xenophobia\, and societal collapse feel more prescient than ever. \n \nDetails \nDate: Saturday\, November 7\, 2026 \nDoors: 7:00 PM | Show: 7:30 PM \nLocation: Eureka Theater\, 612 F Street\, Eureka\, CA 95501 \nTickets: $10 adults | $5 children under 12 \n \nPresented as part of our Essential Cinema series. SUMMARY:StrangeBrew 14: Hum-Brewed
DESCRIPTION:For StrangeBrew 14\, we're turning the spotlight on the roots of craft beer: the homebrewers!\n\n\nStrangeBrew 14: Hum-Brewed\nThe rumors are true. StrangeBrew is back\, and this year\, we’re doing it differently. \nFor StrangeBrew 14\, we’re turning the spotlight on the roots of craft beer: the homebrewers. The ones brewing in backrooms and garages everywhere. The ones who experiment\, fail\, iterate\, and occasionally create something truly strange and spectacular. In fact\, many of our local breweries have drawn on this homegrown brain trust for years to man their operations. This is where master brewers are born. \nSo what exactly is a “strange brew”? It’s whatever happens when a homebrewer ignores convention and follows curiosity. Think ingredients like chamomile\, lavender\, elderberry\, pineapple\, tequila barrels\, or whatever else was lying around the garage that week. Some are brilliant. Some are bizarre. All are worth tasting. \nThe Humboldt Homebrewers club is bringing nearly 40 different brews (maybe more!) to the Eureka Theater. Beers\, ciders\, seltzers\, mead\, kombucha. All of it made by local hands\, fueled by curiosity and obsession. \nAll proceeds go toward the ongoing restoration of the Eureka Theater. \n \nHere’s what’s waiting for you:\n\nUnlimited tasting from nearly 40+ homebrewed creations (until the beer runs out)\nStrangeBrew branded stainless taster cup included with your ticket\nRadio Clash DJs kicking off the party with the eclectic mixes they’re known for\nThe Strange Brew movie playing during the later half of the event. Tasting continues. The party vibe doesn’t stop.\nPeople’s Choice Award. You vote for your favorite.\nDAS BOOT awarded to the brewer’s favorite\nSwag booth selling remaining tasters\, pint glasses\, and merch from StrangeBrews past. Scratch that nostalgia itch for your beer collection and home bar.\nConcessions available for purchase\nDesignated drivers FREE\n\n \nWe know everyone is hurting financially right now. So we’re making this affordable. StrangeBrew 14 is about community\, creativity\, and keeping the strange alive\, not emptying your wallet. \n \nTickets: \nPresale: $20 \nDoor: $25 \nDesignated Driver: Free \n21+ with valid ID required \n \nStrangeBrew 14: Hum-Brewed \nSaturday\, November 14\, 2026 \nDoors 4PM | Awards around 7:30PM | Event ends 8PM \nEureka Theater

SUMMARY:The Land Returns: Documentary Screening & Filmmaker Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Indigenous nations are regaining their land\n\n\nAbout the Film \nThe Land Returns chronicles a surprising new way that Indigenous nations are regaining their land: individual settlers\, local governments\, environmental organizations\, and even corporations are returning stolen land to Indian nations as part of a growing grassroots movement of restitution and reconciliation. \nThe film explores three Land Back stories\, including the Wiyot people’s repatriation of their sacred Tuluwat Island on Humboldt Bay. In 2004\, the City of Eureka returned 40 acres of the island to the Wiyot Tribe\, and the relationship built over decades laid the foundation for the return of the rest of the island. \n \nFilmmaker Q&A \nFollowing the screening\, join us for a live\, in-person Q&A with the filmmakers. \n \nDetails \nDate: Thursday\, November 19\, 2026 \nTime: Doors 7 PM | Show 7:30 PM \n \nLocation: Eureka Theater\, 612 F Street\, Eureka\, CA 95501 \n \nTickets: $10 \n \nPresented by the Eureka Theater. Sponsored by Redwood Coast Energy Authority (RCEA) and KEET-TV. \n \n#TheLandReturns #WiyotTribe #Tuluwat #LandBack #EurekaTheater #Documentary #EurekaCA #HumboldtCounty
